Vision Statement

Wanganui Central Baptist Church is a community of those who believe in Jesus Christ, united together, growing spiritually and actively engaging in our community and the world.

In the Wanganui Central Baptist family....

We are a people who love Jesus and seek to share his love with others

We seek to fulfil Gods commission for us to reach out to people; locally, nationally, and in the wider world

We will act in love and respect towards others, valuing people because Jesus died for them, learning to walk together in humility and compassion

We will speak the truth in love, being teachable and accountable to one another

We will seek to encounter God whenever we meet and encourage the use of the spiritual gifts.

Goals

To be a church where people are encouraging and appreciative of others, where everyone is welcomed and valued, acknowledging differences and celebrating them. Where training and equipping of Biblical truth and spiritual growth is happening through teaching and discipling. Being a people called to local and overseas mission.
To be a church where people have a sense of belonging because their giftings fit and they are supported and empowered to use them.
To be a church where people are excited and alive with the love of Jesus, seeking to follow His way, listening for the voice of the Spirit. Being humble and repentant, choosing to be accountable and living out what God is saying. Choosing to be outward focused, people using their giftings in their everyday jobs and neighbourhoods.
To be a church of small groups, missional communities and mission focussed people, encouraging each other and stepping out of their comfort zone in their gifts and calling. Being prepared to support and encourage and release others to achieve their passion of what God has called them to do in mission, within the local community or overseas. To be a place where talking and eating and laughing are happening regularly.
